Day 6 & 7: Recharging at OxbowBurrito’s in Laguna Niguel

April 20th & 21st

We have temporarily stepped off trail to recharge a bit at OxbowBurrito’s house in Laguna Niguel. The Breeze’s knee injury appears to be significant, and he’s scheduled to see a sports doctor tomorrow to see if its manageable without causing permanent damage.
We’re still planning on attending the official 2-day kick-off event from Wednesday-Friday.

UPDATE: Unfortunately, The Breeze has a┬átorn meniscus and very likely a torn ACL as well. He was told to stay off it and seek a surgeon once he’s home. We are headed to Kick-off now.

  1. Hey man! Thanks again for the Portland beer. You are at the same PCT mile that my foot blew up at and I had to take a day off. This is the hardest part of the hike. Travel well and safe.

    1. Thanks Craig! We’re excited to wrap up Section A at least. I put another 4 oz of down in my quilt…let’s hope I stay warmer.

  2. Wow, what fantastic pictures, Tim! The terrain is much different than I thought it would be. I hope you guys heal quickly. Enjoy the doings at the starting place.
    Love and prayers,
    Aunt Donna

  3. I’m loving thee pictures! Damn shame about the knee though, that’s a real downer. I hope things will be OK for him.

  4. Just caught up with all your posts. Jena laughed so hard when I told her you tried to dehydrate avocados.

I hope Breeze’s knee is in better shape… What a shame.
